Primary National Strategy Every Child a Reader (ECaR) toolkit Every Child a Reader (ECaR) forms a key aspect of the Every Child Matters and personalisation agendas and has the potential to be pivotal to the LA strategy for early intervention. The programme involves training of 'Reading Recovery' teachers who deliver daily one-to-one reading recovery teaching for children with the most severe difficulties. The toolkit provides advice and guidance on how to introduce and implement the effective rollout of ECaR. The content of the toolkit, including video clips, is available to download.

EYFS Website The revised EYFS website contains essential advice and guidance for all practitioners working with children from birth to five, including detailed information on six areas of learning and development and supporting children from birth through various states of maturity and development. The updated site contains a downloadable version of the revised May 2008 edition of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Secondary National Strategy: The learning discussion The learning discussion - a strategy to support better progress for underperforming groups in science is now available to download and contain resources to support the learning discussion in school. The Autumn 2008 learning discussion materials for the science subject leader meetings comprise a selection of downloadable video clips of interviews with pupils and subject leaders and audio clips of learning discussions.
