Early Years

The National Strategies’ Early Years programme sets out the commitment to raising achievement for all young children, by improving the quality of learning and teaching in early years’ settings and with Childminders, and by improving transition to ensure all children make appropriate progress.

Success will depend on ensuring continuing quality improvement in the early years, by supporting the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage in schools, settings and with childminders as well as ensuring a continued focus from Local Authorities on ensuring all children get the best possible start in life.
